Zadoc
05-09-2009, 02:31 AM
Name: Zadoc

Gender: Male

Age: Died in the world of the living at age 16, currently in Soul Society his age is 30.

Appearance: Zadoc is tall for his age, scaling in at 6’5”. He has a fairly muscular body, which shows that he works out some, but not extremely developed. His facial appearance is that of a 16 year old despite his exceeding height. He has medium length blonde hair, with bangs that slightly hang over his blue eyes. His eyes are very attractive, and seem to go on like an endless ocean. His facial hair goes all the way around from his regular hair, but has a little strip at his chin that won’t grow for some reason he doesn’t understand. His face is scared from the top of his right eye to the left side of his lip, going just across the bridge of his nose. He tries to keep a stern look on his face, but often smiles when he is in an enthusiastic mood. He also walks with poor posture, he thinks that this is because his own reiatsu ways him down.

He wears the standard black kimono, but it has a hood that is not like other Shinigami’s. It also has strings that can be used to tighten the hood, which have white stripes spiraling along them. He often wears it when he fights, making his face mostly invisible under his bangs. His kimono has long sleeves, and covers his whole body except his face, which is also mostly covered when he has his hood on, which results in him having pale skin. It closely resembles a hoody he wore in the realm of the living. When not in uniform, he usually wears a white kimono with a white bandana.

He has excellent bathing habits, and takes regular baths due to his high perspiration.

Personality: Zadoc was a rough kid when he went to school in the world of the living. He often picked fights with other students, and tried to pretend not to have emotions. These traits followed him to the Soul Society, and he still enjoys picking fights. Even though he pretends he has no feelings, he often shows that it is not the case. He cares about those he works with, family, and those who have been kind to him in the past. He finds people who are always dirty or smell obnoxious to be irritating, and is often hateful to them. Personality traits of other people who often makes him angry are arrogance, disrespect, and the kind of people who like playing stupid, even though he also tends to be arrogant and disrespectful to those who he thinks doesn’t deserve his respect. He is dutiful to his high-ranking superiors and understands his place the majority of the time. He is somewhat shy around females, and tends to make conversations with them short, even though he rather enjoys them.

Zadoc’s loves any kind of food from the sea, and enjoys drinking milk. Not using Tobacco or Alcohol are also peeves of his even though some of his friends suggest it is okay since he is dead, but insists since he is in a teenagers body it should not be part of his life. He also dislikes people using their Zanpakuto as a cane, saying it is disrespectful to treat their sword in such a manor.

When fighting he often laughs, especially when he is cut. Many people accuse him of doing it just to intimidate his opponents, but he actually really does enjoy pain. He refuses to fight anyone who is weaker than him, but when it is forced upon him he makes sure not to put them through to much pain. He is usually happy while he fights, but when his opponent has wronged him or someone else, he goes into an insatiable bloodlust. He will not hesitate to kill opponents, and often taunts them in fights to make them come to him with more ferocity. Usually if his opponent is already knocking at the door of death he will let them be, and only continues to be part of the combat with them if his opponent insists it upon their pride, or tries to keep fighting him. His motto is “You can only put one foot in the grave, when the second one goes in, the rest of you falls in with it.”

Biography: When Zadoc inhabited the world of the living, he was often the source of commotion around his school. He was always getting into trouble, playing pranks, and picking fights with those who he thought deserved it. Zadoc often was made a source of jokes due to his pale skin. He often picked his battles by those who seemed stronger than him just to show off his fighting talent. He also trained in kick boxing and kendo, claiming to dislike kendo because it took too much focusing. His preference for fighting is going all out.

After arriving in Rukongai, he took in residence with a small girl. They lived happy together, and Zadoc’s spiritual pressure gave him the ability to do many things other people around them could not. He often would create balls of spiritual pressure to impress the girl he lived with. They quickly grew close, and were a family. Zadoc was like the father she had never had. Zadoc was also quickly mastering swordplay from fights he engaged in daily from his battles in the seventy-ninth district. He often took interest in the shinigami who visited occasionally, but couldn’t try to become one because of the girl who had allowed him to stay with her. His pride would not let him leave her alone after she was kind enough to accept him when no one else would.

One day, Zadoc was thrust into a horrible position. The girl he had been with the whole time had been kidnapped. Zadoc rushed to the Zaraki district to face his foe. Outnumbered, Zadoc managed to defeat his foes until only one was left. But his foe used a dirty trick to defeat Zadoc. Just when the man was about to kill him, a shinigami with amazing spiritual pressure fell from the sky. The man ran in fear, and Zadoc laid in awe of the soul reaper. After a converse with the man who had saved him, he left Zadoc where he lay. As the man was walking off, Zadoc noticed a kanji for eleven on his back. It was that day, that Zadoc knew he would join the eleventh division.

Zadoc
05-09-2009, 02:38 AM
Zanpakutō: The zanpakutō is 147 centimeters (58 inches). The hilt of the blade is 28 centimeters (11 inches). The cross guard dimension is a rectangle, length 20.32 centimeter (8 inches), width is 16.51 centimeter (6.5 inches), and its height is 6.35 centimeters (2.5 inches). The blade of the sword is 114 centimeters (45 inches). It is strangely light, and Zadoc wields it with one hand. The blade is white, and has an amazing gleam to it. The sheath of the blade is wrapped in white silk, and the hilt of the blade is also wrapped in silk, which unfolds when he grasps it showing a white tassel that flows along the end of the hilt for about 91 centimeters (three feet). It is considered to be beautiful by many that see it, even though blood shows up very easily on the white blade. The guard of the blade is gold around the sides, but white on the surface facing the blade, and black on the surface facing the hilt. The side of the cross guard facing the blade has the kanji for death in black circling around the square, and the side facing the wielder of the blade has the kanji for life in white circling in the same way as the kanji for death.

He wears the sheath along the left side of his body and wields it with his right hand. He insists that the blade is his right hand man, and his best friend. When he pulls the blade, he stands in his slightly poor postured position, and with the blade turned to his right. His stance is looks rather poor, but his quick reflexes allow him to move his arm fast enough to block with his blade. The hilt is also long enough for him to wield it with two hands when needed for extra offensive or defensive maneuvers.

Sample Story

Zadoc body felt no pain, despite the soreness he had felt right before he had met that beautiful woman. He was lying on the ground, and felt as if he had never been scathed in his entire life. Getting up and looking around, he was in a much different place from where he had once been. Could this have been the place that Shinigami had told him about? It had to have been. It was the Soul Society!

Trying to observe some things around him, he noticed that this place was nothing like the world that he had once inhabited, there were dirt roads, old fashioned buildings, and even little market stands lined up on the streets. He laughed a bit at the place he was at; it was totally different from home. He walked around his surroundings to see what there was to do in this new life that he would be living.

“I wonder what there is that I can do here,” Zadoc thought to himself. Wondering around the streets, he looked up at the sky for the first time, he realized a wonderful sun rise. It was great to see such a great thing this early in the morning. Surely some people would begin to be out and about soon. He decided to go sit on the green grass that was next to a cherry blossom tree. He felt relaxed in the position that he was, sitting with his legs crossed, the cherry blossoms falling down slowly. The sight was amazing under the sunrise.

After a few minutes of seeing nothing more than the usual gust of wind kicking up a bit of dust, he saw a door open from across the street. He rushed over to see who the person might be. It would be his first encounter with a dead person in his after life! “Hey how’s it going?” Zadoc yelled running towards the stranger. It was a young brunette woman, she was quite pretty, and was dressed in a kimono that was white with little red flowers. Her hazel eyes were attractive to Zadoc, he found himself blushing.

Before the woman had the chance to talk a towering bald man stepped out behind her. “What you think you doing talking to my wife?” The towering man asked in a hateful voice. The man was muscular, extremely muscular. Any other child his age would have been intimidated, but Zadoc was not, being close to the man’s height, even if no where near his muscular build. “Maybe you don’t know, but this is the seventy-ninth district, Kushajishi, and around here, people who mess around with men’s wives don’t get treated nicely.” The man pulled a sword out on Zadoc, who realized that he was in danger. He swung down at Zadoc who quickly dodged the attack by jumping back. He began to feel really tired after that little movement. He didn’t know why, all he knew was that he couldn’t stay and fight. It was against his ethnics, but he had to retreat.

Over time, he managed to find a sword, wondering around the Kushajishi district, he began to realize that it was a very dangerous area. He often would pick random fights with people who seemed worthy to him. Usually after his opponent was so weak, he would just leave him; there was no need to kill them if they were no longer able to fight him. There was no fun in that to Zadoc. Throughout all the time that he was in Kushajishi district he made only one friend. It was a young girl, who appeared to be around the age of 10. The girl’s name was Shikibu, and she had taken Zadoc into her little shanty one day after a particular tough fight.

“So how is this place, do you enjoy being here?” Zadoc talked to Shikibu as if she was years older than him, even though in reality she really was, she did not look it at all. Zadoc made sure to always treat the girl with respect. “And have you always been here?”

“It is fine, it is a hard place to live, but I have been here all my life, and have learned how to live.” Zadoc assumed that the young girl had been born in the Soul Society, but there was no way for him to be sure, as he did not want to ask and offend her. “My parents were killed on a trip to the Zaraki district one day; it is a very violent place, the eightieth district.” Zadoc took interest in the mention of the Zaraki district, perhaps one day he could visit this place.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Zadoc said in a caring voice. It seemed sad that people’s parents had to die to him, did his parents feel the same way about him back home. Truth be told he didn’t have too much memory of what was there back at the world of the living.

Life in the seventy-ninth district had became a habit for Zadoc, he had been there for close to ten years now, his name had spread across the Kushjishi district, and he was feared by a few, but sought after by many. Zadoc was living the life of a street urchin, stealing what he needed for him and Shikibu to live, but Shikibu didn’t really need much. Zadoc realized that most of the people around him had no need for food, or other things that he would have needed in the real world, but yet he still got hungry at time. It didn’t matter though, the joy in the girl’s eyes was worth it to him, it was family for him, and it was all he needed. The little redheaded girl began to love Zadoc; he was like a father to her, and her green eyes often glowed with enthusiasm when ever he was near.

One day, a message came to Zadoc from a scrawny man, who was dressed in rags, and seemed barely alive. The message filled Zadoc’s heart with anger, not the usual kind, but a killing intent that only a murderer could feel. The message read, “If you ever wish to see your green eyed child again, then meet me at Zaraki district.” Zadoc knew what must be done.

He traveled to the 80th district, looking for whoever it was that was holding the only thing that had become important to him in this new world besides the enjoyment he found by using the blade he held by his side. That little girl was the only thing that mattered to him besides a good fight. The shady people of the Zaraki district eyed him suspiciously, Zadoc had no interest in the people at the moment, but he thought that they could all be potential threats. Finally, he realized what was there with him.

There were five men, all dressed with black robes covering there faces, except for one, one that he instantly recognized, it was the man who had attacked him back in the seventy-ninth district. “So you decided to show your worthless face around here eh?” The man spoke to Zadoc from across an alley way. Zadoc’s heart grew heavy, poor Shikibu was tied up, Zadoc was tempted to let his blade do the talking, but it was not an option that would benefit the friend who had token him in.

“Yes,” Zadoc said with a serious tone to his voice, “You said you would let her go if I came to Zaraki district to see you. Now tell me please, what do you want.” Zadoc spoke very formally with the man, just to try to make Shikibu fell more comfortable about the situation she was in.

“Ha Ha, I only said that if you wanted to see her again, I didn’t say either one of you would be getting away from her alive.” He motioned for one of his men to throw him a dagger. Zadoc knew what would happen; he was just too slow to react to the circumstance at the time though. The baron of a man stabbed the poor girl where she sat in the chair. The men started laughing, and now pulled katanas of their own to face Zadoc.

Zadoc felt his desire to kill boost as he seen the small girl stabbed, the same girl who had treated him so well in the seventy-ninth district. Zadoc felt his body raging with a new pressure that he had never felt except for when a few shinigami had visited his home to see what had been going on, and even then his power was no where near what theirs had been. The four lackeys of the man were now closer to Zadoc, and it was then he decided to act. The four men charge him all at once. Zadoc fended two of their attacks off, but was cut by two of the others, the attacks were not too deep, but the blood was now scattered around the alley way from where he was slashed. The boy was now in a state of blood lust, he would kill the men who stood up against him no matter what the cost. He elbowed one of the men in the face, busting his nose, blood now covered the left sleeve of Zadoc’s kimono. To Zadoc, the punishment he was dealing was just beginning. The man who had just been hit in the face backed off and ran away. Zadoc cursed the man who cowered out of the fight. There were still three left though, and the one man who had killed his life, the one who ordered around the pathetic men who served under him. He was still holding his guard against the two who he had blocked with his sword, and he sensed that the other man would soon be attacking again. He quickly let the two go to put an attack on the other one. The two who were in front of him hit the ground with their blades, not expecting Zadoc to slip out of their attack so easily. Zadoc’s sword play had increased amazingly since the first time he had encountered the man who stood before him, who smiled evilly as Zadoc fought his battle.

Zadoc’s natural instinct was to stab the man in his chest, he fell as soon as Zadoc pulled his blade back. Holding his blade with one hand to the side, and his other hand lifted to the sky, he started to laugh demonically. There were only two men who stood between him and his foe. The two of them did not even want to stay to see the fight, they ran immediately after the demonic laughter of the boy began. “It appears your boys don’t like to stay and fight people with skill using a blade.” Zadoc taunted the man in a cocky voice.

“It take a big boy to talk to his elders that way.” The man pulled his sword with his right hand, still wielding the small knife in his left. Now they would have what they had wanted the whole time, to kill each other. Zadoc didn’t care how the results occurred, he already knew them. If he died, then the man would go on with his business, and what ever happens to his soul happens. But if his foe fell by his blade, then it would be Zadoc who would continue living his after life, probably picking random fights with the strong as he always had.

Blades clashed, and sparks flew as the two warriors clashed blades, the man would often overpower Zadoc and stab him with the knife when he was not expecting it. Zadoc had taken quite a few major strikes, and was bleeding very badly. A normal soul would have just given up by now, but Zadoc was fighting for something. Zadoc seen an opening, it would be risky, but it had to be taken if he were to win. The man had stopped for some reason and the enthusiastic boy seen it as a portal of opportunity. The old man was holding his knees, trying to catch his breath, Zadoc figured he had worked him too much. “Get ready to die!” Zadoc yelled as he went in for the killing blow, the murderer smiled devilishly as the child went in for the final strike. He had underestimated the fat man’s speed, which was a deadly mistake. The chubby man quickly stepped out of the way, and stabbed Zadoc in the back. He fell to the ground quickly. The winner of the battle stood over the boy’s body, looking at him with a horrid grin.

“Wrong, it’s time for you to die.” He laughed. Zadoc got ready for the worse, but suddenly, his eyes lit up with a new source of danger. It was spiritual pressure, a crazy amount, and a shinigami fell from one of the buildings. This shinigami was different from any others that he had encountered previously; his Reitsu was in a crazy force. The pursuer of Zadoc also noticed it and quickly turned hoping it was not to late for him.

“Don’t you know it’s not nice to pick on inexperienced swordsmen? Now why don’t you just run back to where you came from?” The Soul Reaper’s voice was calm, and it was obvious he didn’t want the man to fight him. It wouldn’t be worth his time any way. “As for you, you shouldn’t rush into enemy territory without at least a plan if you aren’t that strong. But from what I seen you have potential, think about it, that’s all it is to it.” Zadoc nodded his head, he knew what the man meant. Watching him leave, he noticed a kanji for 11 on the man’s kimono.

Back in the seventy-ninth district, under the cherry blossom tree that he had first sat under, he made a small tombstone for his friend. Sitting under the tree that night, he finally fell asleep after a long night of thinking. Waking up early that morning, he stared into the sunrise, and he spoke to himself. “Hey Shikibu, I thought about it all night, and I realize that I wasn’t strong enough to protect you. I’m sorry, that it turned out that way.” The pain Zadoc felt was worse that moment than his whole time being in Soul Society. “I know what I have to do, to make it up to you. I have to make it in this place, maybe it’s not what you would have wanted me to do, but I think it’s for the best. I’m leaving this place, there’s nothing else for me here. I’m sorry I couldn’t avenge your soul, but maybe it’s for the better. If I had I wouldn’t be doing what I’m about to do. I’m going there, leaving the town of wondering sprits.” The now emotionally matured boy looked into the distance at a tall white tower; it was where the Seireitei was. “I’m going for it; I’m going to become a Soul Reaper.”

Quite a formidable application you've got here. I just did a quick read, and everything looks in order. However, I must point out that there's a bit of excess (which is unusual) for your bio. I'm glad you elaborated, but some of it's best suited for a mission. We're only looking for a brief summary here, so there's no need to get too detailed about it.

Also, please state the lengths of your zanpakuto. I know you want to have the maximum here, but to be sure you aren't god moding please state blade length, hilt length, and tsuba (cross-guard) dimensions.

There are a few minor errors every now and then in terms of word usage and grammar. While this is an amazing application, you should proofread a bit.

Okay, I did some proofreading, and fixed my errors with the Zanpakuto. I actually looked to see how long the sword would be at 168 cm and it was way to long, no matter how long the hilt is. It would have to be a two handed weapon if it was that long. So I think I got most of the errors. I didn't know if I was supposed to post a message saying when I did or not, but if not, I can delete this message!

Thanks,
Zadoc

Whoops, keep forgetting to do my thing here ;)

Okay, you're very welcome to repost here to let me know that you've done your editing. This is just your application thread, and all we really need is that your application is in order, hence your first three posts here.

I did another quick read, and it looks good. You fixed the major errors in terms of spelling and grammar, relations with anything in regards to the anime/manga...it's just bigger and better. Just for future reference, when writing missions, look out for the errors you made last time around.
