Episode 244: "The Long Awaited...Kenpachi Appears!"

Okay, like, I know this is totally, out-of-left-field crazy, but I just got an idea-

What if, wait for it, Zaraki doesn't.....DRUM ROLLS, TRUMPETS.....

HAVE A ZANPAKU SPIRIT?!!!!

This was a good episode. Loved that Kenpachi has finally arrived and is kicking some booty. I especially enjoyed watching Ayasegawa. It was good to see him show why he is in the Eleventh Division, and that he belongs there, despite being embarrassed about his Zan.

The only thing I am tired of is seeing Senbonzakura and Ichigo fight.

Now with Kenpachi back in action, where the heck is Yoruichi? She kind of just vanished after arriving at SS with Ichigo...

I just want to know if Kenpachi sword will appear and beat him to a pulp because he never took time to get to know him. Or his sword is probably a weakling and never got the guts to fight with a powerful master as Ken chan, lol.

Probably won't show, since it never has canonwise. Although, it would be interesting in a filler way.

i don't think it will ever appear in this filler.
and at the end of this episode *the preview for 245th*,
"if kenpachi's zanpakutou materialized, soul society would be wiped out ...and the show would be over. so the studio stepped in..."

it's a very clear hint that zanpakutou will never show up LOL

For the most part, after all the hype surrounding 244, I found the actual episode to be a bit of a yawn. The highlight for me was when Zaraki wiped Wabisuke out and then blasted everyone out of his way with that ridiculously humongous release of reiatsu.

The fight between 'bob-haired guy' and his zanpaku spirit was kinda lame. Not that I expected much from the fight, but I think the denouement was well below expectations.

Did Byakuya-sama release his bankai? I don't think so. Not 100% sure, but I don't think so. I'd have to watch the episode again. As for Zaraki blasting away Sebonzakura Kageyoshi, that really didn't surprise me. And is Byakuya more skilled than sebonzakura? Yes, obviously, because he has achieved bankai, and that requires a defeat of one's Zanpaku spirit.

All in all, I look forward to 245, and sincerely hope it's a notch up from 244.
