Episode 241: "For the Sake of Pride! Byakuya vs. Renji"

240 was a great episode. There must be something byakuya is up to.

I was pretty sure that Byakuya wouldn't betray anyone, but 240 was pretty interesting. I'm sure Byakuya has an overall plan and it seems his betrayal is really pointed at Ichigo more than the Shinigami in general, but we'll see what happens.

It's to be expected that Senbonzakura could never really have Byakuya submit to him and this was shown in the last episode, it really shows how much in control Byakuya has. What was interesting to me though is that Byakuya wanted to protect his "pride".... wonder what he means by that?

gesh ByakuyaBo is up to something and its not just pointed at ichigo... if that's the case why would he free the two captured zanpaktu's of and momo? and if he is just trying to get close to muramasa for some reason and nothing else why would he have to release those zanpaktus he didnt have to go that far! no i even believe he was the one who released shikai against ichigo when he was chasing ikkaku's zanpaktu.... and he was also there at the 2 squads headquarters just before the two zan's showed up that's when he chopped the guards... what does all this have to do with anything byakuyabo? why are you going out of your way to help the zanpaktus?

as i stated in another thread he is protecting his pride but what does protecting his pride have to do with protecting the zanpaktus of other shinigami?

i want some answers! and where the heck is yoruichi?

i thought maybe Senbonzakura was like a twin of Byakuya but after his mask broke a lil his hair and eyes were different

The title of Episode 241 is "For the Sake of Pride! Byakuya vs. Renji" where I believe Byakuya will want to maintain his pride when Renji finds out Byakuya betrayed SS (for a good reason unbeknown to Renji) and attacks his sensei. We might find out what Unohana will do with Tobiume and Haineko when those annoying two Zanpakutou are brought to the 4th Division headquarters.

But I thought help them escape in episode 240 when he knoched out the soul reapers that were taking them to the 4th division. They might have went back to that cave for a while.

Anyway this next episode is going to be interesting I hope the fight with and is going to be good not another fight like it was in season 3 when brought down really fast.

There's no indication on whether Byakuya actually freed Haineko and Tobiume when he knocked out the soul reapers who were responsible for bringing them to the 4th division barracks. I am sure we'll find out in the next episode.

so i have theories for your questions that make sense condering byakuya's personality...

releasing his shikai against Ichi wasnt meant to kill him...im pretty sure that if Byakuya wanted Ichi dead there are better ways to do it...

im under the impression that maybe Murmasa has some sort of family connection since he uses that statement about protecting his pride which he has only used before in reference to Rukia....

as for freeing Haineko and Tobiume...each person has to defeat their own Zan...and if they cant then do they really deserve to be their masters?...im just saying locking them up isnt gonna solve the problem so i can see why if he actually freed them why he did...

and as for Yoruichi she is missing in action...but if anyone is gonna come and make Byakuya say sorry it will probably be her...at least that is what im personally hoping for....

these are my own personal theories...about him and why we can't just take his actions at face value...he's not a bad guy so i dont really expect he's doing anything besides being a little naughty...but i believe the ends will justify the means...

so the next episode is extremely promising...i really cant wait

Very excellent points. I do notice that one of the advantages the Zanpakutous have over their other halves is that they cn play a LOT more mind-games with the Shinigami than the other way around. I note that as soon as the Shinigami is truly ready to go hardcore, the Zanpakutou folds.

First point...he's right, capture is not defeat. Tobuimi and Haineko were defeated as a team, not in a one-on-one fight, as a battle this intimate should be. Also if Byakuya wanted to release the two Zanpakutou....it's a frickin wooden cage, the options for release are many, he would not have to play around with a lock...I think he wanted to talk.
