The attitude that the captains give Ichigo

kenpachi is not concerned in all these areas like giving respect,taking respect.he is onlt bothered about fighting,hence his attitude towards ichigo is not bothersome.
kuchiki-taichou may be rude but he was concerned about ichigo and his town's fate.ichigo wouldn't had left the arena if kuchiki-taichou had not given him that statement.
mayuri is concerned only of himself,besides he is a scientist he commented ichigo being a substitute shinigami,scientifically like "half shinigami"

Ichigo has only known them for around half of a year! And the Captains that you're talking about are the 3 coldest captains in the Soul Society! And yes, Toshiro's zanpakuto is cold too. So don't post it as a reply.

Tite was doing it to make us think "whats gotten all them so riled up against Ichigo?". its quite clever, it makes us worry about Ichigo, think of possibilities and thus become more involved in the manga. i thought of many possibilities, the main two were:-

1) Because he is part hollow. as far as i know in the canon, Kenpachi doesn't know about Ichigo and a Hollow. Byakuya did know as he witnessed the hollow's power, but he saw Ichigo fighting against it, whilst this time, they both saw Ichigo co-operating with his inner hollow in order to fight.
i thought that they were all entirely disgusted by this, and were disassociating themselves from him entirely. This theory was almost solidified by Mayuri referring to him as "half shinigami"

2) That the captains had actually surpassed Ichigo. This actually came from the chapter before-hand, when Ichigo's full strength getsuga tenshou only nicks Yammy's neck, then suddenly Byakuya comes along and lops off a leg in his sealed state. This still confuses me, how the hell did they do so much when they should be weaker then him.

But really, the captains were trying to make Ichigo sulk away from them and bog off to Karakura town. this would be easier if they bullied him so he didn't want to hang around them anymore. this makes sense, and its not the first time things like this happen in manga's.

what still isn't explained is how Byakuya lopped off Yammy's leg in a sealed state sigh...

Ya i gotta say Byakuya always has that attitude, Kenpachi just treats Ichigo likes that because he knows Ichigo probably wouldn't leave otherwise. But ya i too was a bit amazed at how hichigo just made a little cut and then Byakuya just slices of yammy's leg even though hes in released mode. I was like huh? BUt i think that maybe its because he jsut got done fighting Ulq so his a lot of his reiatsu has been used up. Mayuri is demeaning to everyone except yama so he's w/e. The elder captains get off the hook in my book because if any of them felt like it they really could annihilate him. So not all that respect is needed form them imo. But look i think that they all feel a bit uncomfortable not just because of his vaizard ability but also because look hes a human, the first one in SS history to become a shinigami while being a human, and not only that but under one month flat he achieves bankai, beats a 3rd seat, vc, a captain, and then another captain, and makes a bit of a fool out of them because they were all going along with the plan to execute rukia(except for shunsui and ukitake, props to those guys), and ichigo and the rest of the ryoka , were the only ones at first trying to save her. Ichigo reminds them of one of their biggest failures as captains, and he is an amazing anomaly they all can't seem to completely figure out.
