Why did Ichigo's bankai remain?

1. Is it because he was lucky or Ivan failed to do the job?
2. Is it because his not just a shinigami, but has a hollow side also? I think that's why Chojiro's bankai didn't activate, because he's 100% shinigami.
3. Or another reason...

I think because his bankai doesn't come from his shinigami powers. His bankai comes from his fullbring power. I think that's why the fullbring arc will be important. If you all remember in the manga:

Ichigo releases a Getsuga Tenshou while in his fullbring mode before he ever got his bankai/zanpakuto back. I think this is because his fullbring is the source of his powers. And that unique fullbring is exactly the reason why Ginjou spent all that time trying to steal it from him. (Possibly if Ginjou knew the Quincies were coming and he wanted to also be invulnerable to their bankai-stealing attacks)

I think it's because Ichigo possesses Hollow and Fullbring powers and isn't a pure Shinigami. I think when the Vandenreich planned their attack on SS, they planned on just fighting Shinigami, or were only able to develop a weapon that worked on pure Shinigami.

I'm curious to see if it works on the Visards who have Bankai.

They probably already knew about Ichi and his triple threat of powers but this could merely be a testrun of the original lol. Iban was just the Guinea pig to use it with xD.

Because his fullbring powers and shinigami powers have now merged so its not really that simple anymore. Especially given how Ichigo's fullbring is like a cloth that he wears so it protects him.

These guys kinda remind me of when Grimmjow came to earth the first time to fight and test out how strong Ichigo was. But unlucky for these Quincies, Ichigo is a bit stronger

They probs prepared their sealing tech based on Shinigami.

Ichigo is a shinigami but he's got a whole lot of other stuff that he is too. Hollow, fullbringer, visored, human.

If you look at his knew shinigami uniform it has the collar and cuffs from his fullbring. So maybe that threw a spanner in Ivan's works.

Or Ichigo is uber strong and the seal wasn't meant to deal with that kind of reiatsu.

I think it had more to do with his hollow and fullbring powers. I mean they may have planned for it in their development but they may have mistaken just how powerful he is. A lot of people under estimate Ichigo

Buckbeard, their leader, looks a lot like Zangetsu. Maybe he's the progenitor of the whole powerful getsu folk: Zangetsu and Engetsu. So that's why the seal didn't work. Why would their leader give his subordinate's a tech that can supress his own powers?

Also Aizen's sword was Kyoka Suigetsu! yet anothet getsu coincidence I don't think so!

Feel free to correct me, but I'm pretty sure Getsu means moon (or month) in Japanese. So it would make sense that it was in a few sword names.

Not that your theory is wrong (since it's an opinion and we don't know the truth yet), I just don't think the fact that a few have Getsu in their name really means anything.

I think its because Ivan overestimated his ability...lol... and thought he was of an equal level as Ichigo, or believed that Ichigo was weaker than he currently is...

"Judging from your appearance you were a bit too impatient..." this gives me the notion that Ichigo is the unknown factor in it all...at least to the players...and Ivan isn't a major player in this...

2ndly it makes me think that they're not all Quincy... the attitude of the clone shows the disparity in the ranks... This guy acts like he's royalty or at least nobility, and wants to be treated like it... Kinda Kuchiki-like...

I think he's a shinigami...

I think this reflects his attitude to Ichigo keeping his bankai... this other guy is probably a Quincy...and I can see a Quincy not ranking Ichigo in his current phase... no matter how long or how strong they were...
